It's amazing what having two kids can do! They seem to suck up any available time. It's pretty sad to say that I haven't blogged one single time since Kennedy was born. Let's just say, I've been busy. It's hard to believe that our little princess is 6 months, now. We went for our check-up yesterday and she weighs in at 12 lbs 8oz. So tiny!!

I think it is starting to seem normal that we are a family of four. It's difficult to remember what life was like before Kennedy. She is coming into her own, and she is a dream baby. Connor is so lucky that he came first. I don't know if there is an easier baby out there. Within the last few weeks, she has started cereal and LOVES it!! Just this week, she has started peas and loves those, too. Like I said, EASY!! She has started some consistant and loud babbling, and uttered her first words the other night. She reached out for me, and said "Mamma." I have never been so proud!

The Burton family has been crazy busy. After a long, wonderful maternity leave of 5 months, I started back to school. What a shock to my system! We have been in school for almost 2 months and I am still trying to find that routine. This year I have French 1,2 and 3, and I am always trying to play catch up at work. It's impossible for me to get work done at home. Who wants to work when I have two wonderful kiddos to play with?

Its a busy routine that we have. I start my day at 4:30am in order to get Kennedy and myself ready, and to get out the door by 6:30. Dave takes the kids to Ms. Teresa's at around 7:15. I pick them up around 3:00, and the "real" day begins for me. On Tuesdays Connor has gymnastics (a very entertaining activity!), Wednesday evenings are filled with church choir (which Dave teaches), and Friday afternoons we go to get allergy shots for Connor. All this, and my kids are 3 1/2 and 6 months. What is life going to be like when they are older?

Every once it awhile, I do get to stop and breathe. It's at those moments that the fullness of motherhood consumes me. The smiles and uninhibited love that my children give me is the fuel that I need to make it. The support and encouragment that Dave gives me is the essential nourishment that helps me to thrive.

I love our crazy life!

Sit back, get comfy and read the story of week 31.

The week started with my 31st birthday. However, it wasn't much of a birthday due to the fact that Dave and I were both very sick. Neither one of us could even get up off of the bed or couch for any lenghth of time. Connor, however, was feeling fine. We called Nana and Papa, and they came and got Connor to spend the night with them. It was our best attempt to keep him healthy. But for me, it was a horrible birthday.

The next day, Monday, I went to school, Dave went to work even though we were both feeling horrible. A few hours into Dave's workday, and he receives a phone call from Mom; Connor woke up with a fever, and he was throwing up. Dave went to meet Mom, to get Connor, and to go home.

Later that afternoon, we all three found ourselves in the doctor's office together. Dave had the flu, Connor was being treated for the flu, and I had an upper respitory infection. We all stayed home the next few days. We all were feeling horrible.

Thursday, we returned to work, but Connor went to Nana's just as a precaution. Later that morning, it started to snow. It came down hard and fast. I was let out of school early, so I set out to meet Mom at West County Mall to get Connor. The roads weren't bad, but driving was slow as huge snow flakes fell, and accumulated quickly. Mom and I met and made the "Connor exchange", however, I wouldn't be able to make a quick get-a-way. As Mom was starting to back out, I started my car, and...nothing. I tried again, still nothing. I couldn't believe it, my car wouldn't start! Here I was, trying to get over bronchitis, in what seemed like a blizzard (for St. Louis, anyway), in the freezing cold, 30 minutes from home, and I can't start my car!! AHHH! I called Dave, who was set to get out of work early due to the weather. He suggested I get Mall Security to jump my car. We did so, and nothing. Thankfully, Mom has Triple A. Forty-five minutes later, Dave, Mom, and I (Connor slept through the entire ordeal) are standing around my car. Eventually, the assessment was that I needed a new battery. The AAA guy quickly replaced the battery, and we were on our way. We drove the slow, snow-covered route back to O'Fallon without much of a problem.

School was called off the next day, so I had one more day to get better, and a great day off with Connor.

As far as the pregnancy goes, I am really feeling it!! All symptoms present!! My indigestion keeps me up at night. And if that doesn't, the pressure/pain in my lower abdomen is keeping me from sleeping. I am starting to have very swollen legs, and either due to being sick, being pregnant or both. I have no energy. That honey-moon period went away so quickly!

We are really in the home stretch now!!! Just when I start to feel better, too!! I had a doctor's visit last Wednesday, and because Dave was living it up in Los Angeles, he misssed it. It was a very quick and positive visit. Kennedy's heartbeat was very strong. While we were listening to the heartbeat, we heard a big "swoosh", Kennedy gave a big push, as if to tell us to move the thing. I passed by diabetes test, this time. Baby and I seem to be very healthy!!!

I feel huge, and I seem to walk slower and slower. I am getting frustrated because hardly any of my clothes fit, anymore. I will put something on that I wore a week ago, and it will be too tight. AHHHH!!

I am very thankful that things are going so well, right now.
